Aid to migrants: Morocco ready to share its experience with Mali (Ms. Hayar)

Rabat – The Kingdom of Morocco is ready to share its experience and expertise with the Republic of Mali, in order to come to the aid of people in difficult situations, in particular migrants, said Tuesday in Rabat, the Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration and Family, Aouatif Hayar.

During her meeting with the Malian Minister for Humanitarian Action, Solidarity, Refugees and Displaced Persons, Oumarou Diarra, Ms. Hayar recalled the “historic and extraordinary relations” between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Mali for centuries, expressing the will of his department to provide all the necessary support to this African country to meet the social challenges it faces.

Recalling the strong conviction of HM King Mohammed VI that the development of Africa can only be achieved by Africans, the Minister welcomed the fact that Mali shares this same vision and works tirelessly for the development of the continent.

Moreover, she did not fail to highlight the undeniable role of women in the growth of any country, insisting on the need to support them in order to guarantee them an income-generating activity.

Addressing the situation of foreign migrants in Morocco, Ms. Hayar noted that social centers are open to this category, recalling that migrants have benefited, thanks to the High Royal Directives, from free vaccination once morest Covid-19.

For his part, Mr. Diarra expressed his country’s desire to further strengthen fraternal ties with Morocco, welcoming the Sovereign’s sustained efforts to ensure the development of the African continent.

“His Majesty King Mohammed VI is the first pan-African who cares regarding the development of the continent and the well-being of African people,” he said.

The Malian official, on the other hand, stressed the importance of empowering the underprivileged and developing income-generating activities for the benefit of young people, as a means of combating terrorism, citing the project “a village of ‘hope’ for displaced people in Mali.
