The American club had brought in Ailes, 49, in 2014, and he will stay with him until August 8, before starting his new mission with Newcastle in the English Football League on the 22nd of it.
Newcastle finished eleventh in the English Premier League last season.
In a statement, Ailes said: “Newcastle is a giant club and the beating heart of its community. Every time I visit St James’ Park, I’ve been struck by the passion of the fans.”
Ailes previously also worked as chief executive of Tottenham Hotspur, and at West Bromwich alongside Newcastle manager Dan Ashworth between 2006 and 2010, and has witnessed the launch of Atalanta since 2017.
