Air Canada Flight Delayed: Passenger Opens Plane Door and Falls on Tarmac

2024-01-12 17:25:00

On January 9, an Air Canada flight connecting Toronto to Dubai was six hours late. In question, shortly before takeoff, a passenger opened one of the doors of the plane before falling on the tarmac as reported by Global News.

The aircraft, a Boeing 777, was still parked at the boarding gate and was preparing to take off. But an agitated passenger stood up and opened a door before falling onto the tarmac. Emergency services immediately rushed to the scene and described a passenger who “was in a state of crisis when the incident occurred and suffered relatively minor injuries when he fell on the tarmac”. The man was then transported to a hospital.

The airline has opened an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
