Air Europa (UX) pilots represented by the Spanish Pilots Union (SEPLA) plan to strike in Spain May 22-23 and May 25-26. The union is demanding increased pay for Air Europa pilots. Additional strikes are scheduled for May 29-30 and June 1-2.
The action will likely cause disruptions to UX-operated flights serving the following cities: Madrid, Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Bilbao, Valencia, Ibiza, Vigo, A Coruna, Alicante, Gran Canaria, and Tenerife. Disruptions might persist following the end of the action, as the airline deals with passenger backlogs and repositions aircraft and crew.
The previous SEPLA strike was observed by 618 flight technicians, affecting over 600 flights arriving and departing airports in Spain.
