Air raid warning on radio suddenly sounded across 10 Russian cities

On the morning of February 22 (Moscow time), radio announcements of air strikes and missile attack threats were issued in 10 Russian cities, and then the Ministry of Emergency Situations Russia said it was a hacker attack.

Russian online media outlet Baza, Ostorozno, Novosti, Russia’s independent news website Meduza, Russian state news agency RIA Novosti all reported this information.

The warning text “Attention, an air strike warning is being issued. Go to shelter immediately. Attention, Attention, missile attack risk” was broadcast on Relax radio stations. FM, Avtoradio, Yumor FM and Comedy radio.

Residents of the cities of Pyatigorsk, Tyumen, Voronezh, Kazan, Nizhny Novgorod, Magnitogorsk, Belgorod, Stary Oskol, Ufa and Novouralsk all heard this fake warning.

Later, Russia’s Emergencies Ministry said this appeared on the radio as a result of a hacker attack. Due to a hacker attack on the servers of several commercial radio stations in some parts of the country, information was broadcast regarding an alleged warning not to attack and threaten to strike missiles”.
