Good news for the “fans” of the A380, still very numerous among passengers – but much less among airline executives. In an interview with German journalist Andreas Spaeth, the president of Emirates Tim Clark, confirmed the return to flight of all the A380s of the Dubai company by 2024. That is 114 A380s, out of a total fleet, all companies combined, of 239 aircraft.

Some 67 of Emirates’ 114 A380s will even have their cabin renovated, with the installation of the new “premium economy” class, an intermediary between business class and economy. The first of its refurbished A380s left the workshop on 1is last November. The project should be completed in May 2024. And one of the main beneficiaries of this project costing several hundred million euros is none other than the French group Safran which supplies the seats for the new cabins.
