THE FILM Badarawuhi Di Desa Penari will be broadcast in the United States (US) starting April 26 2024. This news was announced by Lionsgate at the gala premiere of Badarawuhi in the Village of Dancers on April 4 at the MCA IMAX Studio, Westfield Century City, Los Angeles.
In the US, the film directed by Kimo Stamboel will change its title to Dancing Village: The Curse Begin.
“On April 26 2024 it will be broadcast in America. Lionsgate’s strategy, the timing is to wait until it is broadcast in Indonesia,” said producer and CEO of MD Pictures Manoj Punjabi to journalists in Los Angeles, USA
The screening of the film Dancing Village: The Curse Begin in the US was realized after MD Pictures collaborated with Lionsgate.

Collaboration with large film companies such as Lionsgate is a new breakthrough for the Indonesian film industry. MD Pictures started with Badarawuhi in Penari Village.
Manoj is optimistic that Indonesian films can be in the world spotlight because they have great potential in the international market. According to him, Badarawuhi in Penari Village is the first step to carrying out other projects.
“Yes (opening the gates). This is a start that I am building a bridge between Indonesia and America. This is something we are waiting for. If this film goes ahead, the doors will also open for other Indonesian films, it’s good to bring our films,” said Manoj Punjabi.

“This is the start, something that can be heard, get news. I hope this is widespread, but I hope more, I want to go in slowly but my strategy is bigger,” explained Manoj Punjabi.
Manoj also proved his seriousness by holding a gala premiere event at MCA Westfield Century City, Los Angeles, USA. The goal is for US people to see the seriousness of the Badarawuhi team in Penari Village.
“This is Lionsgate, people just want to release an easy film but how do they do it? Do they want it to be big or have good press so that it is successful or just want to release a film but it doesn’t have value,” explained Manoj Punjabi.

“The preparations were extraordinary. 40 people from MD came, we didn’t come empty-handed. We came with a strategy. We didn’t just come here,” concluded Manoj Punjabi.
The Badarawuhi Premier Gala event at Penari Village received a warm welcome from Americans. The audience’s enthusiasm was visible when several actors and directors arrived on the red carpet.
In fact, unexpectedly, invited guests came beyond the seats provided in the IMAX studio at the MCA Westfield cinema, Century City, Los Angeles. The audience was overflowing because they couldn’t wait to see the film Dancing Village: The Curse Begins, which was adapted from the true story of Simpleman.
