The aviation professional group and the unions VIDA and GPA agreed on an increase of 11.8%

Vienna (OTS) After very intensive and challenging negotiations, the social partners, ie the aviation professional group in the WKÖ as well as the workers’ and salaried employees’ works councils and the VIDA and GPA unions, today agreed on the adjustment of the collective agreements for airport and ground handling personnel.

The minimum and actual wages for workers and employees will be increased by 11.8 percent on a 15-month basis (January 1, 2022 to March 31, 2023). This also applies to Sunday and night bonuses. The adjustment applies from May 1, 2023 for twelve months. Part of the deal is also a disproportionate increase in starting salaries and apprenticeship wages.

“This year’s KV negotiations were still marked by the effects of the COVID-19 crisis”, commented WKÖ Aviation Chairman Günther Ofner on the agreement reached. At the same time, Ofner clearly states: “This degree, which is unfortunately very expensive for companies, also recognizes the special burdens during the COVID crisis and the successfully managed restart in aviation. This significantly increases the attractiveness of jobs in aviation.”(PWK122/DFS)
