Airport strike in Berlin: flights to and from Austria affected

On German Capital Airport Berlin Brandenburg (BER) there is a risk of delays and flight cancellations next Wednesday. The verdi trade union is calling for a strike in ground handling services, the airport company and aviation security for this day. A very large turnout is expected, verdi said on Monday. All air traffic to and from Berlin is expected to be affected by the strike.

“The strike will take place all day long at the beginning of the early shift and will end late in the evening,” verdi said. The reason for the industrial action was the collective bargaining rounds running in parallel, for which no solution has yet been found in all three areas. Verdi expects 1,500 participants.
