Airports prepare for the end of year festivities

At Joinville Airport, CCR Aeroportos, the company that manages the terminal, projects significant movement during the period between Christmas and New Year’s Eve.

The estimate is that around 17,126 thousand people will embark and disembark at Joinville Airport between December 22nd and January 2nd. Some of these passengers who will disembark in the city will take advantage of the region’s attractions, such as the boat trip around Babitonga Bay, Estrada Dona Francisca and various natural and cultural attractions in the region. The expected movement in 2023 is 43% greater than the same dates last year.

At Foz do Iguaçu International Airport, more than 67 thousand people are expected. Passengers will board and disembark at the Iguaçu terminal, managed by CCR Aeroportos, between December 22nd and January 2nd. Visitors will have an extensive option of tours and tourist attractions in the city, such as the Iguaçu Falls, Itaipu Binacional, as well as Christmas decorations at Natal Águas e Luzes.

At all 14 airports with commercial flights managed by CCR Aeroportos in Brazil, approximately 530 thousand people are expected between December 22nd and January 2nd.

At São Paulo International Airport (GRU Airport), the largest in traffic in Brazil, the expectation is to receive, between December 21, 2023 and January 2, 2024, Christmas and New Year holidays, 1.5 million of passengers on national and international flights.
