AJ Griffin assassinates the Bulls!

In an incredible match that even went into overtime, the Hawks got rid of the Bulls at the buzzer (123-122)! Did you imagine Trae Young in the role of the assassin? Well you’re wrong, because the hero of the evening is not his first shot… it’s the rookie, AJ Griffin!

Does AJ Griffin have ice in his blood?

This is the question we will soon have to answer, if the Hawks rookie continues his wonders at the last second. Another bizarre match, another victory at the finish of Atlanta thanks to its young winger trained at Duke. The Hawks received the Bulls tonight, the latter bulging their chests after their big victory against the Mavs the day before. Not the kind of back-to-back easy to manage, even if Atlanta was diminished by the absence of a few executives (Dejounte Murray, John Collins).

Fortunately for Chicago, DeMar DeRozan (34 points) and Zach LaVine (21 points) were in action, as was the good trio Coby White – Andre Drummond – Derrick Jones Jr off the bench. Faced with this shock team, reinflated to block? An untenable Bogdan Bogdanovic (28 points), the activity of the Capela – Okongwu duo, and possible darts signed by a well-defended but distributing Trae Young (14 assists).

For most of the encounter, everything was fine, then the match decided to go… in the balls.

Extension thanks to Derrick Jones Jr who struggles with the offensive rebound but only returns one out of two shots, Bogdanovic who sends shots from behind the arch to give hope to his people, Trae Young who thinks of giving the victory over a mid-range shot full of touch… then DeRozan who is the victim of a three-point fault and gives his team the advantage on three shots.

Bulls 122, Hawks 121, with 0.5 seconds left.

The following ?

A new miracle signed AJ Griffin!

The rookie receives an incredible pass from another Dukie, Jalen Johnson, he twists in the air, immediately drops the ball and it slides into the net.

The referees validate the shot, final score 123-122 for Atlanta while AJ’s teammates jump on the rookie.

This is not the first time that the boy has saved his family, he who had already turned the city around by shooting down the Raptors to the finish three weeks ago!

A new brilliant action which confirms the excellent start of Griffin’s career in Atlanta, perfectly using the minutes given by Nate McMillan and showing that he has his place immediately in an NBA rotation. If he continues at this pace, he will have to overtake him at the end of tight matches…!

Victory for Atlanta at the end of the line, breathing through a straw and through the buttocks. Hard blow for the Bulls who could have validated two great successes in the same weekend, it will only be a postponement for the men of Billy Donovan. Next time, you will have to put in your free throws to avoid this kind of hassle!
