Akhilesh Yadav and Mamata Banerjee meet; In the third front discussion

Kolkata: Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav and West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee met. It is reported that the two have held discussions to form an anti-BJP party without the Congress.

The meeting was held at Mamata Banerjee’s Kalighat residence. Akhilesh Yadav had come to attend the party’s two-day long executive meeting.

The move is to include those who keep an equal distance from Congress and BJP in the front. But official information regarding this is not available. There are also reports that Mamata Banerjee will meet Biju Janata Dal leader Naveen Patnaik in the coming week.

New Indian Express reports that Trinamool Congress sources have said that the Congress’s criticism of his party’s contesting in the Meghalaya elections was not correct and that it will not join the Congress-led alliance.
