Al-Ahly club announced the official signing of French striker Anthony Modeste to be a player within the ranks of the red team.
To the tune of the song “Ana Hoyt” by the late Egyptian artist Sayed Darwish, Al-Ahly announced through its official platforms the contract with Anthony Modest.
Al-Ahly revealed the contract with Modest for a season, with the possibility of renewing for an additional season.
Anthony Modest arrived in Cairo hours ago after successfully passing the medical examination in Europe before completing the procedures for joining Al-Ahly.
Modest, 35 years old, is Al-Ahly’s third summer signing after Emam Ashour and Moroccan Reda Slim.
Modest joined Al-Ahly after the end of his contract with German club Borussia Dortmund.
FilGoal.com revealed the terms of the contract with the former Borussia Dortmund striker:
Al-Ahly placed a clause stipulating that the contract be automatically extended in the second season according to the participation rate in the first season that was agreed upon by both parties.
Al-Ahly has set several additional clauses regarding rewards if a certain number of goals are scored and tournaments such as the Club World Cup and the African Champions League are won.
Dino Lamberti, the agent of Marcel Kohler, the technical director of Al-Ahly, played the role of partner in the negotiations with Amir Tawfiq, the club’s contract manager, in coordination with the Swiss coach.

A source close to Anthony Modeste told… FilGoal.com Earlier: “Al-Ahly made an offer to the striker for two seasons, which the player likes because other offers are for only one season.”
He added, “This clause may have led to the player agreeing to the transfer.”
He concluded, “The proposed salary is close to one and a half million dollars per season.”

A source from Kaf revealed to FilGoal.com“We are currently in the third stage of registration, which ends on September 30th.”
He explained, “Any new player who will be registered during that period will be entitled to participate in the African Champions League and the Confederation Cup, starting from the groups, and will only miss the round of 32.”
Thus, Anthony Modest has the right to participate with Al-Ahly in the African Champions League, starting in the group stage, if Al-Ahly qualifies after defeating St. George of Ethiopia.
Modeste played in the French League with Nice, Angers and Bordeaux.
Modest had a short professional experience in England with Blackburn for six months from January 2012.
The French striker moved to German club Hoffenheim in the summer of 2013, before moving to Cologne after two seasons.
Modest succeeded in moving to Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022 for a season as a replacement for Sebastien Hallar, who was injured at the time.
In general, Modeste played 209 matches in the German League and succeeded in scoring 85 goals and assisting 17 others.
During his participation in 28 matches for Dortmund, he scored two goals and assisted another.
