Al-Maghamsi provokes an interaction by describing Mohammed bin Salman as “the Crown Prince of Muslims”

Dubai, United Arab Emirates (CNN) – Islamic preacher Saleh Al-Maghamsi, former imam and preacher of the Quba Mosque, sparked a wide interaction between activists on social media after describing the Saudi Crown Prince, Mohammed bin Salman, as “the Crown Prince of Muslims.”

This came in a tweet by Al-Maghamsi on his official Twitter page, commenting on a video clip of the Saudi Crown Prince washing the Kaaba, where he said: “May God accept you, and may God increase you in dignity, honor and empowerment, O Crown Prince of Muslims.”

Video clips and photos of Prince Muhammad bin Salman washing the Kaaba, inscriptions on the walls that the Saudi Crown Prince appeared to wipe, including what King Salman bin Abdulaziz directed at maintenance work, which included “paving the surface of the Kaaba with marble, increasing waterproofing, and treating the wooden elements of the ceiling columns, and maintenance of the door of the Kaaba, the door of the inner staircase, and the gutter.”

Among the other writings that appeared clearly on the circulating video site were the directives of the late Saudi monarch, King Khalid bin Abdulaziz, to “renew the wire of the Kaaba in the year 1397 AH.”
