Abdullah Sultan Al Owais stressed that the festival embodies the extent of the people of Dibba Al Hisn’s love for fishing and the salty industry and their keenness to preserve this profession that they inherited from parents and grandparents and from which generations gained experiences about its methods and means, noting that this event has become an annual forum for lovers of the salt industry, which embodies an authentic aspect. He pointed out that the Sharjah Chamber, Dibba Al-Hisn Municipality and the Municipal Council, in cooperation with partners and throughout the previous festival sessions, were able to achieve qualitative leaps in every version that is organized, so that today it has become one of the most prominent heritage and tourism festivals specialized in the salty industry in the region, and one of the most important initiatives aimed at Preserving this ancient folk heritage, and introducing generations to the authenticity of the ancestral past, by preserving this heritage and by supporting productive companies and families that still work in these traditional professions.
Achievements
Al Owais pointed out that the eighth session was able to achieve many achievements by attracting 11,500 visitors from all over the country and the Arab Gulf region. And marine products of all kinds.
15 government institutions participated in its event, in addition to 20 shops, and 15 productive families. Through this edition, the Chamber looks forward to continuing the festival’s successes and achieving its goals, with a cycle full of many interesting and attractive heritage, awareness and entertainment activities.
