French club Marseille officially announced on Wednesday the signing of former Arsenal and Barcelona star Alexis Sanchez, on a free transfer deal, following his departure from Inter Milan.
A statement on the club’s official website read: “Olympique Marseille announces the signing of Alexis Sanchez. The Chilean international, who is under no contract, who has played 143 caps and won 17 titles in his career, will officially join following passing his medical.
A club official told AFP that the 33-year-old had signed a one-year contract.
The player has defended the Inter colors since 2019, first on loan from Manchester United before signing for the Italian team, with whom he won four titles, including the league title in 2021. But last season he participated mainly in only nine matches.
