Argentine striker Giovanni Simeone moved to Napoli from Verona on loan, as the two Italian clubs announced Thursday.
The 27-year-old, son of Atletico Madrid coach Diego Simeone, played his best scoring season in Verona, scoring 17 goals.
Italian newspapers revealed that the deal could become permanent next summer for 12 million euros ($12.2 million), if some conditions are met.
Last week, Napoli coach Luciano Spalletti commented on the possibility of Simeone joining the southern team, saying, “He is a player that Napoli needs and vice versa. It’s a good deal.”
