Reports stated that the Danish international decided to leave his current team, Leicester City, after many years spent with the team to try a new experience, after he agreed to personal terms with Nice.
The news indicated that Leicester City would not stand in the way of Schmeichel’s desire to leave after 11 years with him, during which he achieved historic achievements, especially the crowning of the English Premier League title, provided that the club signs a new goalkeeper first.
Schmeichel’s decision came after he failed to reach a new agreement with Leicester City to extend the contract.
