Our national beach soccer team was crowned the champion of the West Asian Championship after defeating its Omani brother 3-2 in the final match of the tournament, which brought them together today in Jazan, Saudi Arabia, and returned with the championship trophy.

Ali Hamad Al-Badwawi, member of the Board of Directors of the Football Association and Chairman of the Beach Soccer Committee, congratulated the players and the technical and administrative staff of the team for the title of the tournament, which witnessed strong competitions between all the participating teams, and demonstrated the extent of the development of the game, and highlighted the extent of its popularity among the countries of West Asia and the homeland. Al-Badwawi stressed that Al-Abyad’s victory in the championship is a culmination of the great support provided by the Football Association Board of Directors headed by Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al-Nuaimi for the beach soccer programs and competitions, which produced for our national team a number of talented players, who achieved the first regional championship in their first regional and official participation. He pointed out that the plan to develop the beach soccer activity is continuing to preserve the gains and achievements made in the current period, and to continue the targeted development process within the vision of 2038 and to reach higher development stages during the coming period.
Al-Badwawi praised the players’ commitment, discipline, perseverance and keenness to achieve achievements, stressing that their great efforts are appreciated by everyone, pointing out that beach soccer enjoys great support from the Board of Directors of the Federation, and has a strong presence in the strategy and vision of 2038, and this is an important incentive to move forward in order to continue the march of Championships and achieve more continental and international titles. The tournament’s organizing committee chose our national beach soccer player Walid Bishr as the best player in the tournament, and Rashid Eid, our national team’s player, won the tournament’s top scorer, after scoring 6 goals, while Younis Al Owaisi, Oman goalkeeper, won the best goalkeeper award.
