Al-Sisi sends a message to the Arabs about Palestine

Egypt – Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi sent a message to the heads of Arab councils and parliaments participating in the Sixth Conference of the Arab Parliament held in Cairo regarding Palestine.

Sisi said during his attendance at the meeting that the highest priority is to stop the bleeding of Palestinian blood through intensive work with various international and regional parties to achieve a ceasefire and exchange of detainees, and to implement relief aid in sufficient quantities to alleviate the severity of the worsening humanitarian crisis in the Strip, stressing the continuation of intensive efforts, at various levels, to support The rights of the Palestinian people, most importantly their right to their independent state along the lines of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The official spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic stated that the heads of the Arab councils and parliaments were keen, at the beginning of the interview, to congratulate the President on his taking the constitutional oath for a new presidential term, which reflects the confidence of the Egyptian people in their leadership and the path of development pursued by the state. The President, for his part, welcomed the brotherly guests of Egypt, stressing responsibility. The great responsibility of Arab councils and parliaments to advance the process of Arab integration, in a way that achieves the aspirations of our peoples for security, development and stability, in addition to the important role of parliamentary diplomacy in defending just Arab causes in various regional and international forums, and before world public opinion.

In this regard, the Egyptian President praised the Arab Parliament’s undertaking in its current session to discuss a number of important topics, most notably the topic of artificial intelligence, in a way that ensures keeping pace with the times and dealing with its challenges, stressing Egypt’s full support for enhancing joint parliamentary work at all levels, which he praised. Distinguished attendees, we welcome the major role played by Egypt and its leadership in supporting joint parliamentary work.

The official spokesman added that the meeting touched on the situation in the region, where the current challenges were reviewed, which necessitate working to unify positions and unite Arab countries in confronting regional crises, and supporting the entity of the national state and its institutions, in order to achieve security, stability and development for the Arab peoples.

The latest developments in the situation in the Palestinian territories were also discussed, where the heads of Arab parliaments praised the pivotal Egyptian role in supporting the Palestinian people and advocating their just cause, expressing great appreciation and respect for the historic Egyptian position of decisive rejection of the displacement of Palestinians outside their lands, in a way that prevents the liquidation of the Palestinian cause. They also praised the response to Egypt to lead and manage the process of implementing humanitarian aid, and its insistence on moving forward with this process despite the major obstacles these efforts are facing.

The spokesman for the Presidency of the Republic explained that the President reviewed in this regard Egyptian efforts to calm the situation in Gaza and protect the region from the expansion of the conflict.
