The family of the most famous Egyptian artist, Adel Imam, 82, denied that he had Alzheimer’s disease, in response to the latest rumors that followed him, which began nearly three decades ago.
Adel Imam, who has been called “The Leader” since he presented a play with the same name in the 1990s, considered that the “rumors” that were issued were not worth responding to, since others had previously claimed his death several times, according to what his brother, producer Essam Imam, had quoted in television statements. .
And the journalist and journalist, Muhammad Al-Baz, had announced that the artist Adel Imam would not play acting roles again and that he was not able to stand in front of the camera, noting that he learned from close people who visited Adel Imam that he suffers from Alzheimer’s symptoms.
Al-Baz added, through his program on “Al-Nahar” channel: “Imam is in a Sunni and healthy stage and will not present any upcoming artwork at all. his health condition.”
On the other hand, the brother of the great artist, producer Issam Imam, made several phone calls to television channels, in which he denied the news and criticized the rumors and expressed his dissatisfaction with them.
In a telephone interview with the media, Amr Adib, via MBC Egypt, he said, “By God, the great artist, Adel Imam, did not enter the hospital and did not suffer a health crisis,” criticizing Al-Baz for not verifying the news, adding that “the simplest thing is to investigate the news before publishing it.”
He added: I do not know when such rumors will end, people are in a hurry, what? What is the reason for saying that? If Adel Imam is in a hospital or if the whole world gets tired, he will know… At least, news will come out of the hospital itself.”
In another intervention with Lamis Al-Hadidi, Issam Imam said on the satellite channel “On”: “We are used to such news, every period it is said that such-and-such happened to him.”
He added, “We were discussing today and joking together, and he asked me why I respond to these rumors, and he told me, O Essam, they killed me five times before that, what would they say more than that? And if they died before that, it wouldn’t make much difference.”
When asked about imam not going out in a video to reassure his fans and deny the rumors himself, Essam said that his brother is one of his natures that he rarely appears on programs and phone calls, and that his principle is that his works speak.
And Imam’s story with rumors is old, dating back three decades, to the extent of news emerging about his willingness to contribute to paying Egypt’s debts, on condition that his image be placed on the pound, which some believed, before Adel Imam broke his silence, denying the strange rumor.
Since about 2009, the rumor of the death of the “leader” began to circulate, and the same thing was repeated in 2017, then again in 2018, and he was then out through telephone interventions on satellite television programs to deny it in most cases.
On March 1, 2020, Adel Imam, who was 80 years old at the time, went out, through a telephone conversation with Amr Adib, to deny the rumor of his death, speaking in his usual sarcastic way about having an ordinary cold, “there is nothing, I want me to die for him.”
