The health of Alain Delon, 88, is now in the hands of French justice: weakened, the actor was placed under the regime of “judicial protection” for his medical monitoring, the main point of contention between his children.
The order dated January 25 from the guardianship judge notes that a “dissensus exists between Alain Delon’s three children” concerning his medical care.
“It is necessary, in view of the conflict surrounding the adult, that a judicial agent for the protection of adults, neutral and impartial, be designated to assist them,” adds the text.
In France, legal protection is a short-term protection measure (one year, renewable once), which allows an adult to be represented to carry out certain everyday acts.
Decision welcomed by two children
The lawyer for the actor’s daughter, Anouchka, explained that his client “was pleased that the courts had appointed a representative and had taken up the difficulty”.
Quarrel over treatments
Since the beginning of January, the star’s three children have been waging a fratricidal war, through the media and justice, each swearing to want to protect the cinema legend, in declining health since a stroke in 2019.
Anouchka thus accuses her brothers of endangering the life of the actor of “La Piscine” and “Le Cheépard”, who has no longer taken treatment against this disease since his installation in the summer of 2023 in his estate in Douchy. She says she wants to take her father to Switzerland so that he can continue to receive treatment there.
On January 10, the lawyers of Alain Delon and his eldest son Anthony requested the “protection” of the cinema legend “for health reasons”, according to the Montargis prosecutor’s office. A medical assessment carried out by a doctor mandated by the public prosecutor was then carried out on January 13, according to these same lawyers.
