President Alberto Fernández communicated by telephone to the director of the International Monetary Fund, Kristalina Georgieva, the decision to appoint Sergio Massa as the new Minister of Economy. The contact was last night, from Casa Rosada, according to official sources reported to Infobae.
The IMF has not yet made official comments on the dialogue.
Georgieva met with Silvina Batakis in Washington on Tuesday. The now former minister had promised to meet the goals of the agreement signed at the beginning of the year, but when she was returning to Buenos Aires, she learned of her departure from the Palacio de Hacienda.
