An alcohol-fueled argument turned bad during the night of New Year’s Eve in Strépy-Bracquegnies (La Louvière). Two men came to blows. The oldest died this Tuesday.

An investigation was opened at the Mons public prosecutor’s office. The investigating judge issued an arrest warrant against the 28-year-old man and charged him with assault causing death without intention. Homicide intent is not accepted at this stage.

According to Sudinfo, the victim is a butcher well known in the region’s markets. He was to open a new butcher’s shop with his alleged attacker, hired as a worker. He apparently suffered two cardiac arrests in the ambulance taking him to the hospital.
