Thousands of bpost bank customers risk having a bad surprise by the end of the week. Bpost bank will in fact send them a letter today informing them of an automatic withdrawal from their bank account. If the Post Bank is doing this, it is to recover its money following a computer bug.
This IT glitch affected no less than 39,000 payments. These expenses made by the bank’s customers were not debited from their accounts. And there are 26,000 of these customers who are affected. The windfall is not one… because bpost bank intends to recover this money, especially since it has already compensated the merchants who had not been credited due to this IT problem which has now been resolved.
By tomorrow or Friday at the latest, these 26,000 bpost bank customers will therefore receive a letter warning them that the uncollected amounts will be automatically withdrawn from their account.
