Four recalls at Edeka: The manufacturer of the own brands “Edeka” and “Gut & Günstig” warns customers against consuming several items.
Dortmund – Edeka customers should check their purchases carefully, as four products from the own brands “Gut & Günstig” and “Edeka” are currently being recalled (January 12th). To identify the affected food, consumers should pay attention to the batch number and the best-before date. The manufacturer strongly advises against consumption as there is a risk of drastic health consequences.
Germany-wide Edeka recall – “Gut & Günstig” products also affected
While Kaufland customers already have to take into account a vegetable recall from the K-Classic own brand, special caution now also applies to Edeka customers. Several frozen berries are being recalled because there could be black plastic particles in individual packages.
The manufacturer LUKOWA Food AG informs that the affected items are offered at Edeka and Marktkauf. These include two frozen berry mixes from the own brand “Edeka” and two products from “Gut & Günstig”. Consumption is not recommended due to the possible risk of injury if swallowed.
Edeka recall: Manufacturer warns against raspberries, cranberry-berry mix and berry mix
The products can be returned to the respective sales locations without presenting the receipt. Customers then receive the purchase price back. Customers should now pay attention to these details when making purchases:

Edeka recall: Consuming berry mixtures can cause injuries
If foreign bodies are chewed or swallowed, they can cause injuries to the mouth and throat. If the particles are slightly larger, there is a risk that they will get stuck in the esophagus or windpipe. According to the Malteser first aid service, the first signs of this are shortness of breath, persistent coughing or whistling noises when breathing (more recalls and warnings at RUHR24).
In the production of food, in rare cases metal foreign bodies, glass splinters, wood or plastic splinters get into the products. If these have a particularly pointed or sharp-edged surface, they can cause internal injuries and bleeding after swallowing. Consumers should therefore consult a doctor immediately if they experience symptoms after consumption.
