Strong winds and gusts are expected in Neuquén and Río Negro in the next few hours. The National Meteorological Service (SMN) issued a Yellow alert for Thursday, December 14 and Friday, December 15. There is also a storm warning in the region. The detail by areas and the worst schedules.
“The area will be affected by winds from the west with speeds between 45 and 55 km/h, and gusts that can exceed 80 km/h”indicated the national organization.
Also, he noted that on Thursday, in the east of Río Negro, “the area will be affected by storms, some locally strong. They may be accompanied by bursts, significant electrical activity, occasional hail fall and abundant water fall in short periods. Accumulated precipitation values between 10 and 20 mm are expected, and may be exceeded from time to time.”

What does the yellow alert mean?
From the SMN they explained the different alert levels. Yellow indicates “possible meteorological phenomena with the potential for damage and risk of momentary interruption of daily activities.” Meanwhile, orange marks that “dangerous meteorological phenomena for society, life, property and the environment are expected.”
