Alex de Minaur wins the Atlanta tournament

Alex de Minaur won the Atlanta tournament for the second time in his career, following defeating American Jenson Brooksby (6-3, 6-3) in the final on Sunday. The Australian had already won in the state of Georgia in 2019. At 23, he won the sixth ATP title of his career.

De Minaur resisted the pressure imposed by Brooksby well at the start of the game, repelling two break points, at 1-1. He then took control of the set, breaking at 3-2 to race to win the set. In the second set, Alex de Minaur was initially led (1-2, 2-3), before stealing the opposing serve once more, at 3-3, and ending the match in his favour.

« I would like to thank the publicsaid the Australian player, following his victory. I’m not from the area, but you made me feel like you are, so I really appreciate your support. »
