Alexander Ovechkin saw off his father, who died of cancer

Representatives of the Dynamo football and hockey clubs, members of the Hockey Federation of the Russian Federation and Olympic champion Ilya Kovalchuk gathered to see Mikhail Viktorovich off on his last journey.

Ovechkin Sr., 71, has spent the last few weeks at the Herzen Moscow Cancer Institute. Doctors gave the man a disappointing diagnosis – cancer of the sigmoid colon. This pathology is often found in men at this age. It is believed that its occurrence is associated with low physical activity and weight gain.
