Alexander Ritschard (ATP 209) did not sign a second exploit in Munich. Two days after his success over Jan-Lennard Struff (ATP 64), the Zurich native fell 4-6 6-3 6-3 to American Marcos Giron (ATP 68).
Ritschard, who came from qualifying, was unable to drive the point home in this round of 16 after signing the break from the start in the second set.
Thanks to this Bavarian week, Alexander Ritschard will again be among the 200 best players in the world next week. His best ATP ranking is 163rd obtained last September.
