Alexander Volkanovski is still the UFC featherweight champion. Volkanovski is still undefeated in the UFC. He now has 11 victories in as many fights. This is the third time he has defended his title and, over his entire MMA career, he has a total of 24 wins against one loss.

The most spectacular fight of the evening did not put any title at stake. But the opposition, in the welterweight category, between the Swede Khamzat Chimaev and the Brazilian Gilbert Burns, n°2 of the title contenders, held all his promises. And Chimaev (11th before the fight) won by unanimous decision of the judges. This victory could perhaps allow him to soon cross paths with Kamaru Usman, the UFC champion, after a fight against the official challenger, Colby Covington.
From the outset, the Swede put Gilbert Burns in difficulty. But the Brazilian was able to recover quickly and the fight became spectacular, the two men each sending an avalanche of blows. Burns, who looked like he was about to crack, managed to knock Chimaev down, however. But finally retreated more and more, before bowing.

For the bantamweight belt, the American Aljamain Sterling defeated the Russian Petr Yan on a split decision, and disputed (the president of the organization, Dana White, declared in a press conference that he would have given 3 rounds to Yan ). It was a rematch between the two men. Last year, Sterling became the first UFC champion crowned after disqualification. Yan was however easily heading for victory, leading the confrontation, before committing a fault.
But, by winning on Saturday, Aljamain Sterling silenced the doubters. He snatched the judges’ decision after a close first round, then dominated the next two rounds, before letting Petr Yan dominate the two remaining rounds. ” I know I came here very heavily challengedSterling said.
