The Russian artist Alexandra Skotschilenko has been in custody for a year and a half – because of a small protest once morest the war in Ukraine. The idea of the now 33-year-old from Saint Petersburg was: What do most people in Russia do? They watch state television – and go to the supermarket to shop. The artist also went to the supermarket. And exchanged the price tags for pieces of paper with information regarding the fighting in Ukraine. “Record inflation due to military action” it said. Or: “Stop the war!”
