The Alexandria Criminal Court ruled that an employee of the National Authority for Social Insurance, a broker, and a housewife be punished with 3 years in prison for each of them, and an amount of one million and 876 thousand pounds was returned, and the first accused was dismissed from her job, for accusing them of appropriating public money.
The court decided to punish an employee and an employee of the National Social Insurance Organization, who are accused in the case, with imprisonment for one year, and ordered a stay of execution of the sentence of imprisonment for a period of 3 years from the date of the verdict.
The ruling was issued by Counselor Abdel Nabi Abdel Muttalib, President of the Court, and the membership of Counselor Samir Abdel Samie Ali, Counselor Ashraf Sami Saad, Counselor Wael Muhammad Sabry, and the Secretary of the Court Ahmed Abdel Rahman.
The events of Case No. 1474 of 2022, felonies of the Raml First Police Station, when the security services of the Alexandria Security Directorate received a notification from officers of the General Department for Combating Public Funds that the defendants had committed the appropriation of public funds.
The investigations of the Public Money Crimes Department concluded that the first accused, H.S., a specialist in the National Organization for Social Insurance, and in her capacity as an unlawful public servant, seized an amount of one million and 876 thousand and 161 pounds and 55 piasters, owned by the National Organization for Social Insurance.
The accused was involved in committing the incident with each of “A.A.” a broker, the accused “H.A.” a housewife, the accused “H.R.” a representative of the National Organization for Social Insurance, and the accused “H.H,” an employee of the National Organization for Social Insurance.
Investigations revealed that the defendants had attracted 47 people with “good faith”, taking advantage of their need for money and deluding them of their ability to enable them to obtain sums of money from the funds of the National Social Insurance Organization, according to proper legal procedures.
According to the investigations, the exchange permits, the place of the incident, were written down in the names of these people, contrary to the truth, and 69 bank checks were issued to them, while it was found that the first accused seized that money.
And it was established from the report of forgery and forgery by forensic medicine that this crime was linked to forgery in official documents, “41 permission to issue Form No. 604201” and 69 bank checks.
A report was issued on the incident, and the prosecution decided to refer the accused to the Alexandria Criminal Court, which issued its aforementioned ruling.
