2023-12-13 13:25:41

Alexis Pinturault has decided to skip the two descents on the program for the World Cup stage in Val Gardena on Thursday and Saturday.

The winner of the general classification of the 2020-2021 World Cup, who this winter wants to focus on speed disciplines, in particular on downhill, made his decision after the cancellation of the second training scheduled for Wednesday due to snowfall. Pinturault had set the 49th time in the only training session organized on this track on Tuesday.

The 32-year-old Frenchman specified that he was going to participate in the super-G in Val Gardena on Friday and in the 2 giants, his strong discipline, scheduled for Sunday and Monday at Alta Badia.

The Val Gardena descents will, if they take place, be the first of the winter on the men’s circuit. The 4 descents scheduled earlier this season in Zermatt/Cervinia and Beaver Creek were canceled due to the weather.
