Riyadh: Saudi Arabia’s Alhada Pass will be temporarily closed on Sunday for road maintenance. The road will be closed from 9 am to 3 pm. This was informed by Taif Municipality.
It is one of the highest pass roads in Saudi Arabia. Its upper part is more than 2,000 meters above sea level.

Cabinet decision to establish gaming and e-sports authority in Saudi Arabia
Riyadh: Saudi Arabia will launch an official body called ‘Saudi Gaming and Electronic Sports Authority’ to oversee video games and e-sports. The decision was taken at a cabinet meeting in Riyadh chaired by King Salman. This move comes in the context of Saudi Arabia deciding to hold world e-sports competitions.
The goal is to turn Saudi Arabia into a global hub for video games and e-sports.
The Cabinet meeting also decided to observe 2024 as the ‘Camel Year’. The Cabinet appreciated Saudi Arabia for winning the bid to host the World Expo 2030 and the efforts made by the Crown Prince for the same. It is consistent with the excellence, important role and international status of the country. The Cabinet also assessed that this is a continuation of the continuous success in organizing international conferences and events.
As part of ‘Vision 2030’, the Cabinet thanked the countries that voted to let the world know regarding the development that the country and its capital, Riyadh, are witnessing in various fields. The Cabinet expressed deep sorrow and condolence on the demise of the late Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmed Al Jaber Al Sabah. The new Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Mishaal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber, congratulated the Assabah.
