Vampyre Cosmetics has ended its collaboration with Alice Cooper with immediate effect. The rocker had sidelined himself with controversial statements about trans people.

Rocker Alice Cooper loses his collaboration with the make-up company Vampyre Cosmetics. The 75-year-old musician recently made discriminatory statements about the trans community. The transgender movement is just a “fad”, he said.
In an interview with the magazine “Stereo” Alice Cooper has expressed his opinion on the medical care of trans adolescents. The 75-year-old took the position that these minors were not yet mature enough to make decisions about their gender identity. He also dismissed the transgender movement as a “fad”.
Here is an excerpt from the interview with the rock musician: «I think it’s wrong. A six-year-old only gets confused when you tell him, ‘Yes, you’re a boy, but you could be a girl if you want.’ We’ve come to a point of absolute absurdity.”

Cooperation terminated immediately
Cooper went on to talk about access to public restrooms where violent attacks could occur if, for example, a trans woman wants to use the gender-appropriate restroom: “A man can walk into the women’s restroom and spend the rest of his life in it.” Anyone who wants to could take advantage of this situation.
After these statements caused a stir, the make-up company Vampyre Cosmetics is now separating from Alice Cooper.
A statement read: “Due to the recent statements by Alice Cooper, we are terminating the collaboration with the make-up collection. We support all members of the LGBTQIA+ community and believe all people should have access to health care. All advance purchases will be refunded.»
The collaboration with Cooper was only announced on August 14th.
