Alkira launches a free tool to control cloud saturation

Alkira has released Cloud Insights, a free tool to improve network and security in corporate cloud deployments. Nearly a third (32%) of cloud spend is wasted, according to Flexera’s 2022 State of the Cloud Report, which identifies optimizing existing cloud resources as the top priority for businesses.

Cloud spending and network complexity accelerated during the pandemic, putting more pressure on companies to optimize their cloud deployments. Growth shows no signs of slowing this year, as IDC forecasts, with cloud infrastructure spending rising 21.7% for the remainder of 2022.

Alkira Cloud Insights helps cloud architects and network administrators take back control of their cloud infrastructure. The tool offers personalized recommendations on how to improve security, optimize spending and increase performance of cloud networks in Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure environments. It can help uncover duplicate IP addresses, unauthorized Internet access, unused network and security resources, misconfigured security group settings, and unaccounted-for shadow IT resources, among other things.

“Many organizations dramatically increased their cloud deployments at the beginning of Covid to support remote work and digital transformation,” said Amir Khan, CEO and founder of Alkira. “Because the change was so sudden, the initial focus of many organizations was simply to make things work; implementations were far from optimized. Alkira Cloud Insights enables companies to do what amounts to a little “spring cleaning” for their environments. The tool helps streamline cloud deployments, improve security readiness and eliminate costly waste.”

Cloud Insights quickly maps an organization’s AWS and Azure cloud network environments. Companies get a complete and automated inventory of their network and security resources. They also receive data to take action, including recommendations to improve cloud usage, security, and spending. Information and results are delivered in a centralized, easy-to-use dashboard. There is also the ability to set up automated reports to stay on top of dynamic changes made to the cloud network environment.

Brad Casemore, Research Vice President, Data Center and Multicloud Networks, IDC, said, “The networks that enable and support hybrid cloud and multicloud must be smart enough to function optimally in an increasingly distributed landscape of loads. of work in the cloud and endpoints. But it all starts with meaningful auditing and discovery, determining and understanding which workloads are running on which clouds, and providing insight into the networks and security factors associated with those workloads.

“Only with that prior knowledge can companies gain operational insights that produce valuable business results and benefits. With Cloud Insights, Alkira offers customers a free tool that helps provide deep insight into their cloud environments, laying the foundation for informed actions that improve cloud agility, efficiency, performance, resiliency, and security. cloud networks”.

Existing customers get immediate access to Cloud Insights through the Alkira portal. The company is also offering the tool for free in https://www.alkira.com/cloud-insights to other business teams looking for a faster and easier way to audit their cloud infrastructure.
