The Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development has just unveiled the details of the 14th edition of the Hassan II Prize for the Environment.
Applications for the 14th edition of the Hassan II Prize for the Environment are open until March 31, 2023. According to the Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, six prizes will be awarded, namely the Prize for Scientific and Technical Research , the Media Prize, the Prize for Community Action, the Prize for Business Initiatives, the Prize for Initiatives by Local Authorities and the Prize for Exemplary Administration.
According to the organizers of this event, the Prize for scientific and technical research includes all research or innovation work aimed at the protection and enhancement of the environment, the rationalization of the use of natural resources and the improvement of the living conditions and security of populations in accordance with the objectives of sustainable development. For its part, the Media Prize encompasses work that aims, through the various means of information and audiovisual, electronic and written communication, to strengthen environmental awareness among the different components of society and their mobilization in favor of environment and sustainable development.
For its part, the trophy of the associative action concerns all the initiatives carried out on the ground, by the associations, with the aim of preserving the environment, improving the living environment of the populations, strengthening awareness and environmental education, and in general, any project or action contributing to sustainable development.
As for the Business Initiatives Prize, it concerns eco-citizen initiatives carried out by public or private companies with a view to better integrating the environmental dimension into the management of the company, reducing pollution, improving working conditions and the living environment of the local populations and, in general, any initiative aimed at concretizing the social responsibility of the company with a view to sustainable development. Concerning the Prize for the initiatives of local authorities, it concerns actions which aim to better preserve and enhance the environment as well as those targeting the fight against pollution and nuisances, the rational use of natural resources, the improvement of and the living environment of populations and, in general, any initiative aimed at the sustainable development of territories.
Finally, the Exemplary Administration Award includes all initiatives and service and management activities carried out by the central and territorial public administration, contributing to the implementation of the content of the Exemplary Exemplary Pact of the administration for sustainable development in the areas of renewable energy, energy efficiency, rationalization of water use, optimization of paper consumption, waste sorting and the adoption of a sustainable mobility system. “

450,000 DH to reward good initiatives
Consecration In total, the Hassan II Prize for the environment is worth 450,000 DH distributed thus over the Scientific and Technical Research Prize (150,000 DH), the Media Prize (150,000 DH), the associative action (150,000 DH). Prizes in these categories also include a trophy and certificates of merit.
As regards the prizes allocated to the prize-winning works within the framework of the categories relating to the initiatives of companies, local authorities and the exemplary nature of the administration, they consist of a trophy and certificates of merit.
