Alleged embezzlement at Electromatic Guinea: The plaintiffs absent at the hearing…

Three entrepreneurs of Lebanese nationality have been before the Court of Repression of Economic and Financial Offenses (CRIEF) for several weeks. Two co-managers of the company Electromatic Guinea, namely Mohamed Fawaz and Ali Farez, filed a complaint against their partner Ali Jichi for embezzlement.

After the hearing of the defendant by the president of the court, the manager of the EJICO company and the two plaintiffs were to understand on March 6, 2023 before the CRIEF. It was expected that the defense would make certain documents available to the court.

At the opening of the hearing, the defense lawyers disclosed the requested documents. But it turned out that the plaintiffs who accuse Ali Jichi of embezzlement were absent in the room. One of the plaintiff’s counsel informed the court that his clients are out of the country; one is in the Congo and the other in Turkey.

The president of the court, Francis Kova Zoumanigui, said that the plaintiffs must necessarily appear at the bar.

At the request of the party’s lawyers, the case was adjourned to March 20, 2023 to allow Mohamed Fawaz and Ali Farez to appear.
