“Thanks to observant and responsive residents, the State Police received information regarding the possible culprit and, upon checking the data, a man born in 1992 was identified, who was detained on March 16 around 9:30 and taken to the Temporary Detention Center. During the arrest of the person, two pneumatic weapons were also taken from his place of residence. At the moment, it is still too early to comment on the motivation of the man’s actions, the procedural steps in the investigation will continue and a decision will be made on the application of a security measure in the near future. It must be said that the man has already come to the attention of the police and has been tried in connection with a sexual crime. The investigation in the criminal process continues,” informed the representative of the Zemgale regional administration of the State Police Ilze Jurevica.
