ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. (AP) — Josh Allen completed two touchdown passes and scored another score on a run, as the Buffalo Bills won 24-18 on Thursday with some suffering against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Allen overcame aggravation of an injury to his throwing shoulder. During the week, questions abounded about whether the quarterback was showing enough energy and criticism arose about the poor starts of the Bills’ offense in games.

This time, Allen answered for the Bills (5-3), throwing for 324 yards and completing 31 of 40 passes. The Bills report had mentioned that the quarterback was suffering from an injury to his right shoulder.

And Allen was checked by doctors under a blue tent in the second quarter. However, he continued in the meeting.

Gabriel Davis had a career-high nine receptions for 87 yards and a score. Rookie tight end Dalton Kincaid had his first touchdown, with a 22-yard reception.

Buffalo’s defense held the Baker Mayfield-led offense to less than 200 yards in three quarters and 302 overall. Mayfield was close to achieving a late comeback for Tampa Bay (3-4).
