Almdudler success story in the most important export market continues
Vienna (OTS) – The successful course of the Austrian national drink Almdudler in neighboring Germany continues: From January 2024, the distribution of the popular and environmentally friendly traditional couple reusable glass bottle will be handled directly by Almdudler itself in Germany. Almdudler Sprudelfabrikant Heribert Thomas Klein on the decision: “The step towards independent sales in our most important export market gives us the opportunity to provide direct and individual support to our customers, which is particularly important to us as a family business.”
“While the sale of PET bottles remains with our long-standing partner Pfanner, we sell all reusable glass bottles and thus the iconic and CO2-neutral 0.35L traditional costume couple bottle”, says Almdudler Managing Director Gerhard Schilling happily. The previous partner for filling and selling the reusable glass bottles was the Franken Brunnen Group, which will focus on filling and ramp functions for Almdudler in the future. “We are very pleased that customer support is now also being handled in Germany by our newly created, three-person key account management team with the support of twelve brand ambassadors on site. This gives us the opportunity to enter the German market even more intensively and to implement more Almdudler activities together with our partners in the beverage trade and in gastronomy,” explains Thomas Horak, General Sales Manager Almdudler. At the same time, the distribution of Almdudler in northern Germany is being expanded, because it is ensured via ramps from the Hassia Group. This enables national coverage of the market and further expansion of availability.

“By taking over sales and our own Almdudler Key Account Management Team, we are taking account of the growing demand for Almdudler returnable glass bottles in Germany and are assuming direct customer responsibility for beverage wholesalers, beverage cash & carry stores and the catering trade. Mike Butz, Mike Mühlberger and David Schilling are bringing their many years of expertise to the new team,” Horak continued.
Mike Butz will lead the key account management team in Germany and, in a first step, will primarily be responsible for identifying growth potential and strategically preparing the market. He is supported by the two key account managers Mike Mühlberger and David Schilling. The team is full of energy and will take care of existing customers and partners with a lot of enthusiasm and also pay attention to the acquisition of new customers. “We are also very pleased that the experienced beverage professional Winfried Rübesam supports us as an external consultant with many years of expertise,” emphasizes Gerhard Schilling. “After successfully establishing the export business in Germany and expanding reusable sales, we are now looking forward to the next step: direct cooperation with our partners and customers.”
