A major police operation that saw 928 arrests and 17,620 traffic violations across the country was carried out in the last three days. The aim of the operation, as reported by ELAS headquarters, was to deal with crime and improve the level of security of citizens. The targeted police actions will continue with unabated intensity, ELAS assures.
According to ELAS data, in an extensive operation that was carried out throughout the country over the last three days, the police forces:
- They checked 80,201 people and 58,838 vehicles.
- They imported 2,745 people.
- They arrested 928 people for various crimes.
- They confirmed 17,620 violations of the Road Traffic Code.
- They confirmed 70 violations of the anti-smoking legislation.
- They confirmed 9 violations for sound meters.
- They immobilized 583 vehicles.
- They seized 2.
The success of the operation is due to the perfect cooperation of the police services throughout Greece.
