Almost all of us were farmers once

There was a time when 95 percent of Austrians were farmers. Granted, it’s been a few centuries. With industrialization, the growth of the service sector and digitization, agriculture lost importance, but even in the second half of the 20th century, many people still had a small field or a few animals behind the house. Very many of us have at least agricultural roots or points of contact.
