Franz Tost, Scuderia AlphaTauri’s F1 team representative, oversaw the entire 2022 F1 preseason test.
Scuderia AlphaTauri has appointed Pierre Guthrie and Yuki Tsunoda for the second consecutive year at the 2022 F1 World Championship. In the F1 Barcelona test, Guthrie crashed and lost his running time on some days, but he continued to run steadily in Bahrain and ran 370 laps, which is the second fastest mileage after Mercedes F1 as a team.
“The test period is over and the first race will take place in a week,” Franz Tost said.
“We did two very successful tests, first in Barcelona and this week here in Bahrain. We completed 371 laps (2,007.852km) in three days.”
“The most important aspect is the collection of a lot of data, which is essential for further development steps as we need to find correlations between racetracks, CFDs, and wind tunnels.”
“There’s still some work to be done on the setup side, but engineers have a pretty good understanding of which direction to go.”
“We have a strong package, the car is reliable, we have two very good drivers and the team has made great strides so we look forward to a successful season.”
