Already 10 billion euros of Russian assets frozen by Belgium … Putin also concerned

According to figures collected by L’Echo and De Tijd from the FPS Finances, around 10 billion euros of Russian assets have been frozen during the past two weeks in Belgium by the general administration of the Treasury, write the daily newspapers in their Saturday edition.

This amount breaks down as follows: 2.7 billion frozen on bank accounts and 7.3 billion transactions also frozen. It should be noted that only about ten days ago, the amount of sums frozen by the Treasury was “only” to 25.5 million euros. The consolidated list of people and institutions targeted is public and includes 759 names – businessmen, politicians, high-ranking military personnel, bankers and… Vladimir Putin himself.

The list was extended on Wednesday by 14 new names of oligarchs and around 150 members of the Duma, the Russian parliament. The procedure is purely political and administrative, justice does not intervene there.
