MONTERREY, Nuevo León (El Universal).— The Citizen Movement candidate for the Presidency, Jorge Álvarez Máynez, called on Mexicans to reflect on whether for the next six-year term they want “continuity or evolution”, to correctly choose the best candidate for the Presidency, to “not return to the old politics of the past.”
By ensuring that he is in second place in the national sympathy polls, he explained that, following Andrés Manuel López Obrador finishes his term, the orange party is the best bet to win at the polls on June 2, as it will transform Mexico.
“Until now the election was regarding who was worse, who was more liar, more corrupt… because they have not stopped insulting each other. Now that people know that the PRI and the PAN are not going to return, that the corrupt past of the old politics is not going to return, it is regarding what is better following López Obrador,” he said at a press conference following their meeting. with sympathizers in the ecological reserve.
Máynez took advantage of his visit to Nuevo León to explain that, if he wins, he will implement throughout the country a State project like the one launched by Governor Samuel García in that entity, “which transformed social programs, is efficient, modern and that “it will change the security strategy.”
“The question for the next few weeks is: continuity or evolution? And we are the evolution,” said the Zacatecas.
For this last month of the campaign, he announced that he will continue his outreach to young people and children to promote voting.
Later, in a meeting with Emecista women, he thanked Governor Samuel García for pushing him to participate in the presidential race, and his wife, Mariana Rodríguez, for supporting him, and promised them that, if he won, his priority would be Nuevo León.
