The match between Millonarios and Atlético Nacional left many edges this weekend. In addition to the excesses of the fans, which was sanctioned by the Mayor’s Office of Medellín, but not by the Dimayor, the fight between the goalkeepers of the two teams also took center stage.
The two goalkeepers, Álvaro Montero (Millonarios) and Santiago Rojas (Nacional), saw the red card after a confrontation they had in the final minutes of the match.

After the expulsion, in the dressing room, the goalkeeper had a strong reaction while speaking with his teammates about referee Nolberto Ararat’s decision.
The goalkeeper asked them to support themselves when one of their teammates was hit. Montero’s altercation in the game, in fact, occurred because Santiago Giordana had been hit and he went to support him. The violent reaction of the Nacional goalkeeper to the montero’s demands led the two to hit each other and that is why they were expelled.

Millonarios will have to face their next match against Águilas Doradas, this Friday, without their starting goalkeeper due to the sanction that comes with the red card.
