The e-commerce giant Amazon presented Amazon Pharmacy, a section of its retail website and mobile app that allows people to Buy medicines. Consumers can pay with their health insurance. Prime members who do not use their insurance are eligible for discounts on generic and brand-name drugs on the Amazon site or at approximately 50,000 participating pharmacies.
The new offer of Amazon It comes more than two years after its $ 753 million acquisition of PillPack, an online pharmacy known for organizing packaged formulas. This expansion puts the Seattle-based e-commerce company in more direct competition with the pharmaceutical giants. Tuesday’s announcement marks the first time shoppers can order prescription drugs directly from Amazon.. Previously, they were redirected to the PillPack website.
