If you’re looking for a large e-reader that also allows you to take notes or draw with a stylus, the Kindle Scribe on sale today could be an interesting choice, and a great Christmas present delivered in time to slip under the fir tree !

The first Kindle with a stylus

The Kindle Scribe features a 10.2-inch panel with a resolution of 300 pixels per inch, anti-reflective treatment and a surface designed to get as close as possible to the feeling of reading and writing on paper. According to Eric Saarnio, Vice President, Amazon Devices International:

The Kindle Scribe is the best Kindle we’ve made yet. It provides a reading and writing experience that is as natural as on paper. Inspired by Kindle customers who have added billions of notes and highlighted books over the years, it’s also ideal for viewing documents and taking digital notes, managing to-do lists, or scribbling an outline of a great idea. It also offers all the benefits of Kindle that customers know and love: millions of books available on demand, adjustable font size, premium reading features, weeks and weeks of battery life, with the benefits a nice, wide screen.

Two styluses available

The device measures 5.8 millimeters thick for 433 grams on the scale and is offered with a basic or premium stylus. Both models attach using magnets to the side of the Kindle Scribe, do not need to be charged (practical) and the premium version (optional at 30 euros) will also have a customizable button and an eraser on top. It is possible to create handwritten notes, annotate electronic books, but also PDFs or Microsoft Word documents.

Battery life of up to 12 weeks

Battery life reaches 12 weeks for half an hour of reading per day with the wireless connection disabled and the brightness set to 13 and 3 weeks for half an hour of writing per day under the same conditions.
